Let Me Pour My Heart Out for Just a Minute....

Okay guys, let me pour my heart and soul out to you for just a minute.

I want to advance my career in photography; I want to do it as more than a hobby. I've been thinking for a little while now about double majoring when I go back to UConn - finishing up my Psych degree and also doing a photography degree.

That being said, I need tons of help from anyone that can offer it. People who have gone that same path, art majors, photography hobbyists. Even if you're not any of those -- if you can look at a picture objectively and tell me why it sucks, I want to hear your opinion on it. Tell me what I could do better, tell me if it looks like I took the picture with a potato. I'll take anything you have to say.

More importantly, I would like to freelance, but I need people to take pictures of! If you like the pictures I take in the slightest, and you want pictures taken for your event, HIT ME UP! I'm willing to start small (and FREE) just for the experience. Tell your friends, tell your wife, tell your kids. Help me take all the pictures I can!

Art major friends, people who are into music, anybody artsy. Halp? Is a degree from UConn a good idea or should I go somewhere else? Tell me about your struggles and successes. I've looked into art schools, and they're literally twice the price a year that UConn is -- and I thought UConn was crazy expensive! So I'm not sure what to do about that.

I need to make a portfolio, as well. So I need lots of people to give some opinions on photographs if they don't mind. And how do I go about making the portfolio? Should I cut the trees and make the paper myself????? send help!!!!
